Cleaning Cpanel

Ok this is one for the high level techs on here.

I have always had various websites that I played with as a hobby.
I have had very little "me" time since I retired so a lot of what I learnt (I used to use Dreamweaver) I have forgotten.
I say forgotten it does come back quite quickly but once I drop that baton and pickup another ,I soon forget.

Anyway I am desperately trying to combine my wife's wish to sit in a tin box for 3 days with needing to pay ever increasing bills.

So as I have a large number of creative machines such as Lazer engraver, Laser printer, sublimation printers, 3D printers and a CNC router bed. I have decided for one last push.
Hopefully I will be secure for a while after I get my pension that has been moved back by 2 years.

So all I need is a clean working website to collate orders BUT as I have not kept everything up to date my working site has been hacked. It seems just send emails but nothing that Google, bing or search engines have blocked it yet.

I have already paid for image software imagR and customisation Web software called Zakeke so .....to the point of my post.

I need to get my cpanel back to factory setting. Clean wiped so nothing nasty can live on it.
I have asked my hosts what to do but they did not actually answer my question. Just told me something I did not ask.

Anyway I have seen a few videos on YouTube...but they all use a third party zipped copy of cpanel to replace what's on there. I am not sure I trust that...

So any suggestions from the techs on here please....

Depending on your hosting package, some of them give you some sort of option to "factory default" your site, or wipe or delete it - usually the case if you have a VPS, probably not if you just have hosting - this will wipe everything though.
If not you may have to get them to delete your account and re-create it.

I'd suggest take off the data you want to keep, if any, and completely wipe the entire thing and start again.

If it has been compromised who knows what state it is in, and it doesn't sound like it has been updated regularly.
In my experience it is usually quicker to set these things up from scratch than try and unpick them and fix each bit.

If you aren't getting any joy with your host, and your domain isn't tied to them, obviously changing host to a different provider will also give you a clean start
It might be worth checking out as it may work out cheaper than your current provider if you haven't compared prices in a while.

The host is brilliant to be honest. I have a reseller account which should have made things easy. BUT it was the primary account I needed to delete.
Took a while but I am back up now with wordpress and Woocommerce and Just about to reinstall zakeke.

I had to get them to make one of my other domains the primary domain. Then I could delete mistatee.co.uk and start again...


mistatee.co.uk in case anyone wants to watch it grow.. (If it ever does) lol
