Cleaning aluminium tube

I'm after your ideas o cleaning aluminium tube pre welding, not looking a high polish I have a medium scotchbrite wheel but I'm looking a brushed finnish

fine wet and dry ally oxide paper and a hand rub in one direction. or scotchbrite by hand

Been thinking about that just to give it a shine and have the grain running around the pipe

The tube polishers are great but you have to do the whole thing as the grain from the factory runs along the length.

When you say pre welding, if you do indeed mean before welding then I would not go near it with anything containing oxides
Scotch or chemical spray and rinse would be the simplest unless you want to spend ages wiping it down before welding
