It must be really old for you not to know much about it, you've been in the business along time or look at another way. If you haven't seen many in for repair it can't be that bad.
Hi Baz, I checked in a 2003 catalogue today & it was in there, virtually the same but a TE so I really don't know of it's exact age. The current equivalent model is the 255TEC @£599 +Vat. They are a good machine for the money (although I would still recommended a Portamig ).
Might be worth asking the seller what exactly it has been used for. If it's been used in a fabrication shop chances are it's had a hard life, but if it's been used on vehicle repairs, for example, it shouldn't have.
Certainly worth keeping an eye on it as it could go for little money; I doubt it though as it's single phase, and big single phase MIGs are like rocking horse s***!

The auction was ended early with a buy it now £110. There was no buy it now on there, they musthave asked the seller. I really, really want a portamig 211 but I've just lost my job and I am skint. When the business is up and running properly I'll be knocking your door m8.
I've got most of the things that I need to get started making the gates to make the money to invest back into the business to make even more money. I hope to make money anyway.
110 quid!! some dodgy deal there! Oh well, keep looking, good luck with the business & please feel free to pick my brains with any other 'bargains' that may come along.
