Hi
I'm considering purchasing a Clarke AT131. It will be mainly for practising welding 2mm mild steel, as I'm doing a Welding evening class and now realise, with my poor hand/eye co-ordination I need as much practice as possible to make the most of it!
Has anyone had experience of Clarke TIGs?
The intention, when I get good enough at the various types of joint, flat, vertical, and upside down, to replace it with a AC/DC welder to weld up to 5mm steel, stainless and up to 5mm ally.
I thinking probably an r-tech AC/DC welder in the £600 -£800 bracket, but there's no point spending that money till I'm reasonably capable!
Any (clean) thoughts appreciated
