Clarke Punch for plug welds

Anyone had any experiences or opinions on the Clarke Joddler/punch tool?

I want to get a Joddler anyway but I see you can get one with a 5mm punch for plug welds, see link above.

Some of the classic car forums talk about them but don't really say whether they produce good welds, or easy to use etc.

Any advice gratefully received

I have a similar one...it punches holes easily through car bodywork. You have to take a bit of time with the "joggling head" to keep the bend in a nice straight line.

Easy enough to use though.

Hows the plug welding with the reduced hole size. Just wondered as the recommended size in the tutorials is 7.5mm.

I'm tempted with the air version, damn good price, but haven't sorted my compressor yet. Spending money like fecking water at the mo. so may have to waite.

I have the air punch/joggler. Havn't joggled much, but the puch has been handy for replacing pannels. Hole size is 3/16" or 4.75mm, and this has worked fine.
