Hi,
I've got a pro90, trying to learn mig for hobby use, but the small bottles don't last long and can't afford BOC rental, so would like to know if gasless wire can be used in this machine. If so do I have to change anything or just buy the wire? Do I have to take any precautions with the fumes from the flux?

I think that's a straight gas only machine.
The dual purpose ones have a way of reversing the polarity for gasless wire but the Pro90 hasn't.

By chance I have posted on the Introductions section some photos of my Pro90 which I converted for use with gasless wire. It requires some alterations to the output cables to enable reversal of polarity and modification to the switch mechanism in the torch. I only use it in gasless mode for the odd outdoor work and it works fine. There is some debate on this forum as to whether or not you need to reverse the polarity for gasless wire but theory says you should so why not.

You might look at using CO2 (the CO2 disposables last longer.) A pub bottle would last you years.

Would be better than gasless.
