clarke pro 90

hiya.
i have bought a used clarke pro 90 off ebay for £40. shes alittle battered but hopefully works?. the swan neck - tip- and shroud look goosed 'threads gone etc' and the gas reg is missing,so was wondering should i put a wire liner in while i'm at machine mart getting the other bits? or is there anywere cheaper...on ebay there is swan necks complete with the gas block thingy shroud and tip for about £20 for sip-clarke it says..anyone tried them? anyway any info greatly app

Yes there is a thread on here about using a fan out of a computer, but they said it doesn't really need it.

Defo get a wire liner in there. I have a slightly bigger clarke welder and saw a marked improvement in wire feed after removing the black plastic liner that it came supplied with and swapping it for a wire liner.

I think there's much less drag with a wire liner as its a harder material compared to the relatively soft plastic.

i put a fan out of an old microwave in my old stick welder some time a go and it really helped with keeping it cooler. i am able to weld for much longer periods of time with it now.
all i had to do was drill holes in the back plate to match the bolt holes on the fan, then i wired it up to the main switch on the welder so the fan was on all the time. worked a treat.

I fitted a 120mm fan from an old pc in my 90EN as it used to trip under heavy use in the summer, after fitting I never managed to trip the welder and it worked flawlessly

I used a butchered 12volt mains adapter to power it
