I just got a 2nd hand plasma cutter.
The pilot arc when you press the trigger starts and stops for a fraction of a second, then repeats this once or more times.
The trafimet s45 torch looks very good, nozzles are new. The inner retracts, not stuck, and looks like new.
I can cut with it if I put the torch on or near the work piece and press the trigger, but would obviously like to get it working properly.
The air keeps running for a couple of minutes as it should after operation.
I rang Clarke customer support, who were quite helpful but as stumped as I am.
What controls the pilot arc once it on and shuts it off after 2-3 seconds as the manual suggests it should.
I inspected the pcb and couldn't see any dry joints or obviously blown components.
I haven't got a circuit diagram of the pcb so difficult to fault find on that.
Anyone had similar experiences?
