Recently purchased a Clarke Plasma king 25 of fleabay (20 quid!!!) and i am after some advice, I am pretty sure its control pcb is faulty. Dont really know much about plasma cutters, but im pretty good with electronics in general.
The torch was completely knackered and burnt out (binzel PSB31) so i replaced it with a new trafimet s45.
When I power the unit on, Air flows constantly from the torch and when i pull the trigger down nothing happens, no green light, no pilot arc, nothing at all.
If i turn off the power and turn it on with the torch in contact with the job it fires up and cuts perfectly. Also if i cut off the air and do the same it also works perfectly.
I was fiddling about trying to isolate the fault and i disconnect the air solonoid, pulled the trigger and low and behold the green light comes on and the relay/breaker at the clunks on. So something is definately up with the controller, tested it and its constantly pumping 24v into the air solonoid no matter what i do.
Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated!
