I bet someone has put a none tanged taper up there and its gone too far up and covers the slotted holes...2 ways to get it out,I am trying to take out the MT2 from my CDP 350 F pillar drill. There is a slot each side of the quill but where there should be a gap to insert the wedge to knock out the MT there is just a solid tube. Any ideas how to remove the MT?
yea but have you ever tried to remove a chuck off the end of a J taper...a big old rough inside MT2 on a chinese drill will give it up 1st i betThere are 2 sets of slots, one in the quill and one in the rotating shaft, obviously they have to line up before you can insert the wedge.
The ball-joint splitter above the chuck should work, but if there's a taper in the chuck that stands a chance of coming out, leaving the adapter still in the shaft.
