First of all thanks for such a valuable website and forum. I've spent hours reading and have learned so much from the articles and forum posts, for which I am grateful.
I'm looking to buy a mig welder for "home" use, mainly car restoration and modification ranging from sheet metal to 3-4mm box section chassis work. I see that the Clarke range often get recommended on here and with the Machine Mart zero VAT offer at the moment, figured now could be the time to buy.
They list a 160TM for £279 and then a 165TEM for £329, but I havent been able to find out much about the differences between the two. I can see that one has a max output of 150A and the other only a little more at 155A, but does anyone know if that is the only difference for the extra £50 and if so, is it really worth the extra?
I'm going to be using the welder in my garage which is single phase but has one of those blue round sockets as well as traditional plug sockets if that has any relevance.
If anybody is familiar with the above two machines could comment it would be very much appreciated.
