Clarke MIG105EN HELP PLEASE

Hi all, I have a Clarke MIG105EN Turbo MIG Welder.
I am welding about 3mm plate using argon co2 mix gas with 0.8mm wire (not flux wire) and it was welding fine got quite a few really nice welds!

The welder is now not welding properly. the best way to describe it is plusing! the arc seems quite weak and the welds have no strength and it next to impossible to build them up and make a run!

What could be causing this? I am going to get another bottle and try that as am using the small disposable bottles. Can anyone help me work out what wrong??

Hi Henry,

From your description, it sounds (to me at least) as though there is something slowing down the wire feed.

Assuming that the liner is in good shape, wire does not have a layer of rust on it (can be very fine and hard to spot at a glance)?

Personally, I think I would check (in this order) -

Firstly - check for anything obvious (not nudged / moved the wire feed setting)

(1) Is all well with the wire feed motor
(2) Are the pinch rollers in good shape - not worn
(3) Is the liner all good (personal preference is wire one)
(4) Fit a new tip.

Like I say, this is very much personal opinion - may be helpful if you can post some pictures of the welds (really worth a thousand words).
