Guys,
Been checking out the Clarke migs on machine mart website today - apparently this one goes from 24A-90A.
Thinking it might be suitable for the sill/body work on my car.
Anybody used one?If so what do you reckon?
The 90EN works well - nice welder. It's only really comfortable to 1.5mm though will do 2mm at a push, so not so great for chassis work but OK for body.
Personally I'd go a little bit higher and go for a 130 amp welder for automotive. That'll allow overlap welding of modern chassis which the 90 wouldn't.
It should handle sills OK, just it's a little lightweight. My friend with the 90 keeps talking about upgrading to something a little beefier. Anything over 1.5mm in the real world and it's not going to up to the job. Will knock the spots off your Wolf, but it's a shame if you are changing not to get something that won't need upgrading again.
