hi guys, just about to buy this at the weekend as it seems to do everything i want it to, hobbyist brackets 2-3mm thickness, odd bit of thinner stuff, odd bit of thicker stuff although i know i won't get full penetration etc .

I know i would be best off waiting for a better quality s/hand unit to appear but i really could do with something by the weekend and i'm not knowledgeable enough to purchase off ebay/gumtree.

So good choice for the money or better off with something else ? 200 is my limit as i won't use it enough to justify spending any more than that.

do you already have a auto darkening mask etc? and a grinder? and do you have a decent size bottle of gas or the budget for?

yeh have all the gear, been using a clarke 105en up until today, its been in a leaky shed over winter and the wire went fuzzy ( which i didn't think to check) and its ruined the liner, feed wheels and generally made amess of everything. I was thinking of just trying to locate spare parts but thought i'd treat myself to a new one instead

machine mart for spare parts, they are usually pretty good. id be tempted to get the parts to get you tied over with what ever you need to do (you will obviously need wire for the new machine anyway) and then spend that 200 on a second hand unit. you will be able to sell your repaired 105en easily for £100 if not more, giving you a better budget and a much better machine.
