Clarke dinze plug - do they undo / how to undo?

The clarke 105TEN uses a dinze of small 10-25mm size (I believe) for earth.

I am replacing the earth crocodile because it bites offset with a hairline scratch on 0.8mm zintec steel when I drag it. Leaning on the clamp made a huge difference to both noise & weld quality on thin metal.

Q - Is it possible to remove the shroud on the Clarke plug?

That way I can just not only crimp a new lug for a 200A crocodile, but also fit a usefully longer length of fine strand 16mm cab rubber cable to it.

I dont know the machine, but it should just twist and pull out if it is a dinse connector.

I think its anticlockwise to undo them, but not 100%. Its one of them things that becomes so automatic, i dont think about it.

The Dinze connectors Clarke use are Trak SK 10-25.
Found a PDF on the internet which shows how they go together, so stuffed them in the Dinze socket and just twisted the rubber boot off as you say.

Removed the grub screw, removed the copper sheet folded around the conductors (good idea to stop fine strands being mawled by the grub screw), refitted a longer length of 16mm AEI Transcab fine stranded. Cable is a bit stiff re sheath mainly compared to say extra flexible or true tinsel strand.

Will re-tighten tomorrow after the copper has "cold flowed" a bit, awaiting a 200A clamp (returned the hilariously big 400A clamp, could clamp a narrow boat with one of them or frighten the neighbours...)
