there's nowhere near the gear about now that they used to be what gear there is most is overpriced due to ebay

Thats correct Dan and iff ime honest they make very good lathes, but you need to strip them and rebuild again with a small bit of fine Emery cloth and some decent machine oil..also the Gib screws need adjusting correctly but once set up right they make very accurate and reliable cuts@roofman has one as a back up for the back up for the back up, or at least one very similar buried at the back of the bench
