Clarke CBS45MD 6x4 bandsaw motor help

Hi All,

i have the go to clarke 6x4 bandsaw for cutting long stock for machining on the lathe, tube etc, its done trojan work. over the xmas however the motor died in an impressive display of smoke and and noise, then seizing solid.

I don't have the time or mental capacity with so much going on to learn and research about the latest motors, so I was hoping some of the more knowledgeable folk here could just point me at a motor online that will fit the bill?

It’s still a current model. 1/3 hp motor. You should be able to get one from Machine Mart.
If you go for an aftermarket motor, it may not revolve in the right direction and you may have to re wire it.

I seem to recall from one of the previous threads on here that it's a non standard motor with a strange shaft size. You're probably best going to Clarke for one unless you fancy making up adapters etc.

I have a spare motor for the very same..£20 plus post

I fitted a proper sealed motor on mine, may have come from machine mart. I think I had to modify the holes on the saw to mount it & bore out the pulley.
