clarke 90..wire liner upgrade

ive had my clarke 90 a while now , am i right that they have a plastic /poor quality wire liner and that a metal one is a nice upgrade?

whats best and is it a easy upgrade?

i was thinking of upgrading the earth cable and clamp as it looks a bit weak , can you advise what gauge cable would be correct for this machine?

16mm would be plenty big enought
