Clarke 185T Torch

Hi guys,
I have just purchased a second hand Clarke 185T Turbo mig welder. It needs a new torch, does anyone know where i can get one and if they are easy to fit? i only seem to be able to find the Euro plug type

Oh also i may replace the earth wire/clamp.

Does it need a whole torch? Usually a new liner and maybe a swan neck is all that is needed.

PM weldequip, he sells the Clarke welders and has parts for most models.

The guy i bought it off butchered the wiring, god knows what he did to it

it just isnt safe so il purchase a whole new torch i think

Could just use new outer hose and wires. Would be easier to just replace the torch

so what cables un inside the torch line? the wire lining, gas lining, a thick power line, and a positive and negative for the switch?!

I would prefer the new torch option, but if i cant get hold of one i gues i would need to do a very good repair.

That's all ther is: gas line, power lead, 2 wires for switch.

Outer shell is 12mm thin vacuum line. You can use heat shrink as a repair.

I would run new wires and splice them at the inside connector.

Don't know if weldequip sells just the sheath and wires. Check with him, hey may have something.

A new torch is not that expensive, they are about $110 here.

cool. does the wire feed line run seperatly to gas feed line.

worst comes to worst can i just make a complete new torch and line from new bits but use the old gun.

Oh, yes the wire feed liner runs through it too.

it doesnt sound too dificult to do..... are the wire feeders model specific? its an old welder so may as well replace while im there

The feeder looks the same as the one I had on my 130EN. I think they re the same up to the 180.

with it that close to the torch i'd just shorten the whole lot, just wire in the torch from where the connectors are.

Thats not a bad plan, il look into it when i get home.

I have been quoted £68 inc postage for a new torch, or around £90 to convert to the euro plug type and a new torch.....
