I just got myself a 2nd hand Clarke 185E to replace my old faithful 100E unit.
I have carried out a bit of maintenance on the machine (thanks weldequip) and am just waiting to get to BOC to get a new bottle.
I emailed Clarke for a copy of the instructions, which duly turned up in the post after a day, excellent response from them, no questions just the offer of a photocopy of the manual in the post free of charge.
Having got the instructions, I now realise I need to run a decent power supply to this beast as it is rated at 24A supply! Doh, hadn't twigged that before I started.
Anyway, the question I have is, on the front of the machine is a dial I was not execting, that shows a timer. The manual which I hoped would explain this simply says ;
"The unit has a wire feed speed control knob and a timer knob (for stitch and spot welding)"
That is the only reference to the timer knob in the whole manual. Can someone enlighten me as to its purpose / operation. Is there some other attachment for spot welding that is available for this unit? Any help much appreciated.
Andy
