Today's been one of those days when nothing goes right. I picked up all the stuff to run a 230 volt line to my garage, and spent the morning routing the cable, getting it to the box, etc. There were a whole new group of problems then; wrong breakers, etc. I finally got it all sorted out and connected. After checking with a voltmeter to make sure that I had 230 volts, I plugged the Clarke 180 EN, made sure the gun and ground were widely separated, and turned it on just to make sure it was at least powering up.
The fan started to spin, but it made a sound like one of the blades was hitting something each rotation. [Expletive deleted]! I turned it off immediately, of course. Now I want to open it up and see what the issue is; maybe it's something simple. But it's not immediately clear how to open it! Do I just remove the carrying handle and take out all the visible side screws left, top and right?
I had really hoped that I'd get it working so I could at least plan to start learing about it, but here it is 2:45 PM EDT and the [expletive deleted] welder is giving me grief now!
Any advice so I can salvage my day? All suggestions appreciated. (Well, anatomically impossible ones are less appreciated...)
