Clarke 160te extension lead?

Have just bought one of these off weldequip, it looks a fairly mean piece of kit.
I was just wondering can anyone tell me what mm cable I would need to make an extension lead for it, length of lead would be 10m.
The local electrical supplies were very unhelpful and wouldn't advise me, A**e covering I suppose.

Not sure about the extension lead size, but i occasionally run my 250amp machine on a 4mm extention lead, it will run at full power if need be but isnt clever, it seems fine for about 150amps, much higher than that you can hear the cooling fan start to slow when welding.

2.5mm square is a good size and in 10 meters will give you no problems. As a point of interest what do you need it on an extension for?

if its for car body work, there really should be a problem with a good quality household type extension lead, i have happly done car body work on about 30mtrs of extention lead before. if you going to be using it on full power then it won't cut it.

if you do use a roll up extension lead , make sure you unroll it fully first
if your going to buy one id get 10metres of 2.5mm flex and put my own socket and plug on it , probably work out cheaper esp if you avoid the usuall rip off diy superstores

Thanks guys I've gone for 2.5mm got it from my local electrical supplier. Welder works fine.
