Clarke 160en co2

Hi, I have just picked up a clarke 160en off ebay for £70.
It came with a co2 bottle, a regulator and the welder. However it has no pipes and the regulator doesn't fit into the co2 bottle. What pipes do I need?
Also, the welder has silver wire in it (not copper color) does that mean that the wire is gasless?

That is a regulator for argon bottles.

Easiest is ti get a reg for CO2 as the adapters are near as expensive as the regs.

On the lpm side of the regulator it displays the flow rate of co2 and the flow rate of argon.

Yes, but the fitting is a male one meaning that as it is it will ONLY fit into an argon or argonmix cylinder.
CO2 regulators have female fittings.

You can't use that regulator on that cylinder so no hose will work!
You either need a different regulator or a male-to-female adapter which for some strange reason costs almost as much as the correct regulator (as Shenion has said).
Don't confuse the other type of regulator adapter that's widely available, a female to male one can be bought for under a tenner but will NOT work for you as it changes the gender the wrong way.
This will sort you out, your little plastic pipe just pushes into the fitting at the end of the hose.

the connection on that regulator will unscrew.
if you go down to your local welding supplies store you should be able to buy the female version of it

Sounds good, does a silver wire mean that it is a gassless one?

if its a rough finish then its probability gas less it could be stainless wire or uncoated mild steel wire

Take a clean cut off the wire, and you should be able to see the flux core in the middle of the end if it's gasless, and you have reasonable eyesight.
What size is it? if it's 0.9 mm with a 1.0 mm tip on the torch, it's most likely gasless.
