Clarke 160 TM - Earth Lead

Hi,

I have a Calrke 160 TM, which is great, except the earth, a bit short and light weight.

My plan is to fit a new panel mounted 10-25 Dinse fitting using the existing 10mm tail to connect to the panel.
Then fit a 4m 16mm double earthed cable
Fit a new male 10-25mm male Dinse plug
A new 200 amp clamp
Use 16mm re-usable lugs for the panel Dinse and the earth clamp.

Does this seem like a sensible plan, or have i got it wrong.

Why not just replace to internal binding post & have heavier cable all the way

How would I attache it to the internal binding post?

That is what I would rather do but wasn't sure how to attach it?

Any advice, fittings etc.

If the eyelet that needs/would to go on end is to big for you to crimp then take it to a car battery fitting place and get them to fit eyelet and crimp it couple of £ I would have thought.

Well I fitted the new earth lead / Dinse fittings and it looks great.

New longer and heavier earth cable / clamp.

New Dinse fittings (panel and plug)

What is even better I din't have to drill a hole in the Mig unit, the 10-25 Dinse socket fitted perfectly in the existing aperature, almost like it was meant to be there.

Definately recommend this to anyone with such a Clarke Mig with a short. lightweight earth cable.
