Clarke 151TE-What Fuse ?

Ive recently purchased the Clarke 151TE, assembled it all together.

only problem is that in the manual it says it has to be used with a 15Amp fuse, went to the electrical wholesalers and they said try a 13amp fuse and if it blows to have a 15amp fuse you need a new circuit re wiring into the house ?

If that makes sense ?

Just wondered what others have done ? Havent tried the 13Amp fuse yet....

rather get some feedback from you guys.

you sure it doesent say it has to be used with a 16 amp fuse, not a 15 ?
Anyway you will be ok to use a 13 amp plug, most on here do with the clarke welders. See if you can plug it into the Cooker power point, if you dont have anything else, the house wil not need re wiring im sure, but it should be ok on 13 amps.

If you cranked it right up to maximum and tried to weld a quarter inch plate then it might blow, but otherwise it should be ok.

Connect the mains lead, through a suitably fused isolator switch, to a 230 Volt
(50Hz) electrical supply, with a 15Amp fuse rating. A standard 13 Amp plug MUST
NOT be used with these welders.

Everyone over here runs the Clarkes (up to the 160) on 13 amp fuses. We're rebels. I never had any problems with fuses blowing on mine, but I did find that using quality plugs and changing them every couple of years is a good precaution - otherwise you can get that electric train set smell.

Maybe they're referring to 15A fuse wire?, the manual is woefully out of date.
e.g. ALWAYS Keep fire extinguisher handy....’Dry Powder, C02 or BCF, NOT Water
BCF has not been used since the early 90's due to impact on ozone
