Clarke 151TE price history

I'm a little confused.

On the forum, I see people talking "Clark 151TE comes in at £223" in the year of 2005. And somewhat similar prices in the past.

Now the cheapest price I can find is at MachineMart for £324.

I don't live in UK so I cannot talk for the price of other stuff. Is it the inflation, or just the price of this Clarke 151TE getting higher and higher ?

It's down to inflation (and contributes to inflation) and the UK VAT rate went from 17.5% to 20% in January 2011

Was it only 2011 Vat went up? Seems like forever.

The price is still on the box for mine and was 199 in vat free. That was the days where vat free was every New Year's Day or the day after and wifey (then GF) loved spending the day at MM....
