Clarke 151TE (Power)

Hi All,

Firstly I think this is a cool site. I've only just started welding and this site give me all the best tips.

Now my problem, I've just bought a Clarke 151TE in Machine Mart and notice is needs a 15A supply. Is there anyway around this without putting an extra feed out into the garage? I was thinking of just putting a surge protector in but these are only 13A and I don't want to damage my new toy

Hi Rob, welcome to the forum. This has been asked several times and the answer is........Stick a 13 amp plug on it, the worst that could happen is you'll blow the fuse in the plug, you won't/can't damage the machine. I ran a 220 amp mig on a 13 amp plug and it would only blow the fuse during prolonged use on the highest setting.
