Clarke 150TE power fault

I got this 150TE today (history unknown).
It has power, the fan comes on but not a lot else.
Pulling the trigger gives a light click inside the machine (very occasionally a “happy” loud clunk as normal that stops after a second).
No signs of drive at the wirefeed.

Suggestions welcome, where do I start looking for gremilins?



No comments needed about the mini bottles, the first problem is to fix the power fault

Check the pcb for dry joints first - also make sure the red and black wires coming from rectifier are clean and making good contact .
You could check the motor with a 12v dc source and make it’s turning ok .

Check output of the 240v/25v transformer if main contactor doesn't activate

The primary of the main welding transformer gets AC mains via the small relay on the PCB. If it is in a transparent case, see if the relay armature moves when pressing the trigger. Perhaps the relay contacts are dirty or burnt, and could need to be cleaned. thanks to @eddie49
