Clarke 135te wire feed fault,too fast

Hi everyone i have a clarke 135te and the wire speed is just coming out on its maximum speed even though i have it dialed to 1 its coming out on 10.
Was wondering has anyone else had this fault and fixed it,or would it cost more than its worth to fix .

Most likely failed motor drive transistors (or thyristors/triacs). Eventually go short circuit on these machines. You also need to check wire speed potentiometer and soldered joints to it, as these sometimes fail giving the same result. They can be repaired by professionals at reasonable cost if required.
