What are Clarke 100EN welders like? I will want to do gas welding only, so is a gas conversion on one easy? Where can I get parts for gas conversion from and how much does it cost?
For converting you will need a regulator, gas bottle, and pipe. You will also need to reverse the polarity in the leads. Not sure on the costs, but if you are looking to buy the welder, beware that buying a no-gas and converting to gas doesn't reallly work out any cheaper than buying a 'gas only' welder. Looking, I think the premium cost for 'gas welders is aout £10-£20 to get a cooling fan on a par with a 'no-gas' model. In terms of performance, I have a Clarke and no probs so far...
As for buying, you could try the big chains like machine mart etc, but if you can, try and find a local supplier who knows what he's talking about!
