Managed to pick up a few sleeves of 2.5 for about 15 a piece! A lucky find. I think Boc do them at reasonable prices, a long with few other decent electrodes.

Local welding supply often only have sif rods the shelf so normally have to find a price online, Cromwels local keep stock. Boc will get them but have to get a case of 3 boxes, ok for a big job but just to expensive to keep for a general rod.
I find sourcing materials the biggest headache, as most of my work is maintenance, volumes are low and lead times need to be quick. Everyone wants volume for better pricing.
fftopic: Nearest bearing supplier 15 miles away is normally twice the price of RS delivered next day, so now only use in an emergency.

some of these local weding supplys companies take the **** a bit anyway. i try use local companies but i need to make money as well
