Clarification - HF pilot restart / reignite

Hi can anyone advise what 'hf pilot arc restart' offers over 'hf pilot arc' alone?
Manufacturers seem to suggest restart / reignite is for cutting mesh.
What is the practical disadvantage of not having 'restart' when trying to cut mesh?
Is it that you would have to release the trigger and then restart the pilot arc between each rod in the mesh?

I think without it you would need to keep re-triggering manually (i.e. releasing and re-squeezing the trigger) without the restart function? ... on mesh, that is!
