Clamps

New to welding, just want to make some random things, aint got a clue what tho but i want to be make it easy, how close can you weld to a clamp like this?

i know not on top of it, i just don't want to break the clamp

You could weld pretty close, but is it plastic coated in any place? But to be honest for the money you could get a few big g clamps and still save some cash and you can literally run your bead of weld right next to the clamp without worrying about the clamp, I have a quick release g clamp somewhere il look for a link if that's where your heading by the looks of the clamp

Awesome clamps. I use them cos I weld a lot of tube and this clamp grips better than your usual "G" clamp.

Use Bessey clamps all the time at work welding right up to it and sometimes on it. Great clamps. Carver are another good clamp. Both expensive.
