Clamps

I'm after a set of good quality welding clamps. The only ones I ever find are the el cheapo ones. I bought a set of sealey ones and they were so poor they fell apart on first use! I've got a set of C clamps from that well-known highstreet machine retailer, they're still not great quality but they haven't fallen apart yet. Cant find a good set anywhere, any ideas on which makes to look for?

If you want the best, invest in some carver clamps. They are not cheap by any means though.
The medium duty ones are plenty strong enough for most things!

Piher is a decent clamp aswell, good value, can be difficult to find.

Thanks Hitachimad, googled both and had more hits with the carver ones, not much at all with Piher.

Bessey clamps are well up there. Not cheap though- i paid £100 for 2 heavy duty 12" ones and that was after discount from the rep!

I found the frames on bessey ones tend to twist over time unless they are used straight and flat all the time.

piher clamps use them all the time no problems, BOC quite often have some good offers on them.
