Started at 3lpm and it was almost there I found with the cup held directly vertical over the pool it was really clean but with a slight angle on the torch as you would it just wasn't quite enough and there were spots on the surface that showed. I turnd it up to 3.5 and bingo it was consistently clean so I turned it up to 3.8-4.0 for good measure so that's a nice saving for me. I like the visibility through the cup. Really does give that ability to weld more comfortable. I was very sceptical about these as to whether they were worth there price tag. So far so good.

Yeah that's what I found at 3 it was just not quite there but at 3.5 it was good. I have gone slightly above it just for assurance. It's a big difference from the 6lpm I was on with single stage reg and standard gas lens. The multistage optiflow has helped out loads and these have just dropped usage another 1lpm.

I got mine today mate thanks a lot.
Just need to find my box of tig stuf so I can get a 1.6 tungston for ali out. Is ali white or red??

You can get away with Red on low amp stuff I find but white is correct, myself I changed to Blue ages ago and find they are about the best there is plus you don't have to keep changing them

It's best with white, gold, grey, blue infact pretty much anything but red. As langy said you can use red but it doesn't ball up well.

I keep 4-5 of each on the shelf so usually got them but you just never know as some weeks don't sell any then in a few days I sell 20 odd, what flavour do you need ???

Not sure, I'd have to look at my torch for the model. All I can say is its air cooled......
