CJ autos, car tilters

I'm looking at the basic one from CJ autos, but can't help feeling that these put a huge stress on the hub and bearings.

Am i mis understanding how they operate? anyone got one who can put my mind at rest before i buy one. Mine will be tilting a MK2 golf, and possibly the odd Beetle in the future.

I wouldn't be so worried about the hub, the way it puts stress on the entire suspension worries me more in a direction it was never meant to have loads like that on.

Maybe it will be fine, you see stunt drivers up on 2 wheels but is it likely to do damage is another question.

I have an Autovip 1700 that bolts to all four hubs, given the choice I would sooner have/build a rotisserie. Are you wanting to tilt a running car or a shell?

A few years back i use a similar one to tilt my ford orion it worked great it was a bit hairy getting it back on its wheels so i went to the local farm got two bales and dropped it down onto them

think I'ii build a rotisserie instead, as its possible on the golf that i might have to weld near the rear axle mounts. And if i can't remove the axle then it will be pointless.

You obviously havnt been in a rally car on a rough stage coming into a down hill hairpin,NOW THAT, puts MUCH more strain on the suspension in exactly the way this roller does, BUT WITH, IMPACT SHOCKS if a car wont stand that then it aint up to much.
