I am wanting to put the circular type finish you used to see on old vintage car dashboards on a project i am on with.
This is a poor picture , but i think you can see what i am after. I was thinking about some kind of fibre disc in a pillar drill , and overlapping the circles . like shells laid on top of each other. This is hard to explain , but i hope someone will be able to help

What would be the best way to achieve this , is there a certain tool etc

the best to use is wooden dowl in a pillar drill the size u require using grinding paste as the abrasive . consistent and cheap
