circle technic

ive gotten use to laying beads of welds with the curved zigzag technic. i was just wondering how u get the circular lookin beads. i just want to give it a go for the fun of it.

Do you mean one that looks like this?

If so then that's a tig weld, not a mig weld. Check out Matt's other pics btw, there's some great stuff in his albums.

you can sort of create the appearance by doing overlapping spot welds but that's about it.
It's quite a good technique for use on thin sheet as it limits the amount of heat and therefore distortion and risk of blow-through but for general use it's not recommended.

You can also do it with mig by keeping the wire quite low, and going back and forth along the joint, 10mm forward, 5 back, 10 forward, 5 back....not the best technique for penetration though.
