Chuffin' wind!!

Hi all

It was rather windy up where I live yesterdayu, I opened the gate to go and water a large Acer on the front and I heard the 3"x2" all topple over by the wind that used the space between the house and garage in to a wind tunnel

It split the crown of one of my Bonsai trees, Had to wire the split together then put some cut paste on to keet the sap flowing!!

The wind has kept blowing my patio trees over too, It blew two stacked garden chairs over and flattened the foliage on a spruce midweek!

My li'l trees are having it rough lately as darned Squirrels have been digging holes in the compost to put nuts in, I'm getting fed up with them now so I think they will need a lead injection in their ear again

It stopped them coming last time for three or four years!

I had the same happen to an oak I’d had since a sapling when a trampoline skated over it last year. I cable tied up and it’s in leaf but the split is weak. What’s this cut paste you mention? Is it too late for mine?

It's applied straight after a wound to stop the sap leaching out, It's like Plasticene we had a kid, When all the colours were mixed it went a greeny brown colour!!

The proper stuff comes from Japan though, Yours will have calloused over by now I would have thought! The real reason to use cut paste is for whan a branch or root is removed, This stuff is applied to stop infection but it's waterproof so keeps the live vein sealed!

There's two types, In the tub is the Plasticene type stuff, Then there's the stuff in the tube which is really like Mastic, Horrible stuff and difficult to apply..

And this is what the imported tree rats do when hiding nuts, I'm looking forwards to hiding lead in them
