chuck key??

the bench drill doesnt have a chuck key.
so how do I go about getting the right size chuck key??
its a record dmd24.
already ask record and they only sell the complet kit and also no idea what size!!.
nothing wrong with the chuck.
they were suppose to send me a booklet etc via email...nothing...
I measured the key hole and its 6.47mm.
I've got 3 odd chuck keys and none of the ******s fit.
looked into Chrono's webb and they have sizes in 5,6,7,8mm? and so many teeths.
I dont want buy 5 or 6 to get the right one.
chuck is 13mm but there are several sizes of chuck keys etc.

Is there any letters/numbers stamped on the chuck? may give you clue referencing Cromwell page.

I've never been able to find an exact match for my old Clarke drill

there are 'tens' of different keys for a 13mm cap' chuck -many look similar,also 'jacobs' are now very hard to obtain keys off. ESSCO sourced my last key u could try them.

I bought one of those 4-way chuck keys. Fit one of my smaller chucks. Then bought a bigger one for the chuck on my lathe.

Apparently, there are 3 sizes of those 4-way keys. Smaller one for 1/4 and 3/8" chucks (10mm). 1/2" (12mm) and up for the larger one. Have seen a real big one too but never needed it.

They worked but are sloppily cast so they bind a bit.

bought the uni key and 2 in a blister pack this morning from m/mart.
yes the ******s don't fit grrrrrrrrrrr.
my current chuck key of my ****** ok I give up chinese made drill would do but the bit that goes in the hole is to big.
so I think the best thing to do is mod that to fit.
