Chuck Jaw Springs.

I have a number of Breast drills.
I have enough to rob the worse ones for bits to fix up the good ones.

I now have junked the ones what are no use. This has left me with a couple of good ones.
But I have 2 what would be perfect apart from one issue.

The chucks have lost the springs.



Question 1.

What is the thread what holds the chuck on and can a modern key chuck be fitted>







The jaws, negative springs.
Question 2

Can the springs be purchased and if so from were.

old springs out oil seals could be used can cut and wind them back on the joint part its tapered

if u have an old 1 for a sample be easy to get 1 made, not expensive if ur that desperate.......loads of spring makers on the net.......
every spring I get made unless it's super special I get them made in ST/Steel....by a bloke in Colchester....always a good job at a fair price and he's happy to post...........

I take it the chuck in question is the one in the yellow box? Can you get a clearer picture of the the jaws and measure the chuck up. I can them compare it to mine (I have 2 springs) and if they look the same I could get us both some springs made.

@frank horton What sort of costs are involved?
