Chromebook

I bought a Chromebook early last year and it really is brilliant for run of the mill paperwork, of course it wont do anything slightly more involved.

So today i finally set up Google remote computer and its brilliant had a play with fusion360 and it is perfectly adequate for the task.




This is a parameter based gt2 pulley, change amount of teeth rest is worked out and redrawn

All in all can't see me reverting back to a traditional Windows laptop, of course i will still require my desktop but that doesn't bother me as they are a far better economy.

Not a chromebook, But bought a Macbook some years back & would never go back to a windows based laptop

I am on my second Chromebook 1st one still going but right clicks get a little unpredictable and the down arrow key has worn. But its years old, I love them small light but decent screen and keyboard, with fantastic battery life I am not a fan of iPad's.
The first one doesn't own me anything got if from john lewis with a £100 cashback deal and a year's free date sim included, they were new and google were pushing them at the time.
Will have to investigate the remote desktop thing.
I still have a couple of laptops for cad and linking into logic controllers and machines.

This one does seem well built, and its at a cost plus with such a great battery life that it lives with me use it when testing for taking results.

Do chromebooks do that trick where they reload the operating system every time you boot up? Supposed to make them invulnerable to virus attack?

yes and every screen is its own sandbox
