@TechnicAl is this a case of wire which is likely to not meet the specs claimed, or a case of it will meet the specs but they are trying to drive other manufacturers out of business?

It's often the case with cheap dog dirt wire like this that the chemical composition doesn't really matter.
The poor quality winding means the wire constantly jams, jumps off the spool, strangles itself round the centre and welds itself to the tip. The low £/kg doesn't look so good when you're angrily untangling the 100th snag of the day and horsing the lot into the skip.
£8 a spool
..Lincoln is about £22 a spool for SG3/1.2 at the moment.

I started the thread as a talking point.....I never expected anyone of us to buy any
To be honest I dont know. Im now 10 years out of it so what their intentions are Im not sure. As far as I know they have basically killed the cheap Italian manufacturers so those remaining are those that have put quality first, Lincoln, Esab, Bohler.
