Chesterfield/Sheffield to South Essex items transport

For the past two weekends I've been travelling down to Grays Essex on Saturday returning on Sunday, so far 2 items transported to Spencer427.

Being as it appears I will be travelling the A1>A14>M11 route each weekend for the foreseeable future, due to family commitments.

So if anybody has items/purchases that need transporting, plus they are close to either location and will fit in a disco call/pm me...

A small detour from the route brings you to my place.

A splendid offer to be sure, but unless Toaster has moved, not sure how a detour from the A1, A14, or M11 could be classed as small .

To be fair I usually use the A1 as Stibbington Cafe is just about halfway and I prefer the A1 over the M1. Mainly because if there is an accident at least on the A1 you do have the option of turning off and travelling on other roads.
I spent 4.1/2 hours parked up years ago on the M1, waiting for the motorway to open again....cross legs or what...

I do the same........spent 3 hours within walking distance of home

I suspect you will get to hate the A14 with all the closures and hold ups due to roadworks these days

According to my Nag Sav the M1 route is actually quicker/shorter than my preferred A1 route but Stibby Cafe is a winner in my books, plus A14 isn't that bad at the times I'm there, but you can always turn off south at Huntingdon and bypass the roadworks...

Went through the roadworks about 10.00am on Saturday just a steady 25/30mph coming back on Sunday about 14.00pm the A14 south bound looked stuffed for miles of slow moving vehicles...

I lived beside the A14 for many years near the Cambridge crematorium, in fact the M11 ended outside my front door . Moved there about 40 years ago when it was the A604 , a three lane stretch of road that was deadly but probably carried 10% of today’s traffic .
