not what they seem have looked further and they run from compressed air there is nothing on them to catch the wind and convert it but they are good machines.

Here is a video showing how he does things. No electrinics, eccentrics, air valves, pneumatics.

Nope, I can see no pneumatics either.
I think what you can actually hear is air being transferred from ram to ram.
As it 'walks' forward and compresses one ram it shifts air to extend another.
He also uses cranks to move parts.

Snooper - you're right - they are pneumatic. As you say, watch further videos of him making the machines to see him making pistons and cylinders, and in others you can absolutely hear the air. Sorry Woz, not a bit of wind energy conversion going on there - it couldn't work like that anyway. No cheating going on though, as there was never a suggestion that they were wind powered.

They are brilliant machines nevertheless. I particularly like the thing that looks like a load of cardboard boxes stuck together. The geometry the guy has used is fascinating, and very effective. I feel a pilgrimage to Holland coming on...

also in the link that shenion posted it shows bottles to store the air and even shows him at one point operating a valve he even states that in the future they will operate from the wind but at the moment they need his help.

Actually snoop the more I watch the less sure I am...

What is very impressive is how little power seems to be required to move the machines - I believe the air bottles are pre-pressurised, but even so, the amount of power required to move the machines seems tiny. They're very light, and look very friction-free.

I don't believe the moving sails work, but I could be wrong! The designs used are so elegant that i'm sure there might be ways to make those sails produce power.

The jury's out here.

Don't believe everything the bloke says! His lecture is fantasy, but based on some very clever engineering.

nope if it were the case he would want to sell his invention that sort of wind capture would be worth millions there is one video there where the machine is moving yet the guys hair is not blowing.

let me put it another way these machines are so light that if they were in wind strong enough to move the wavey sail thingy on the top the wind would blow the machine away.

Still fabulous machines though, there's no denying that.

yea they are fabulous machines and seem to walk very smoothly so build something the same out of steel and stick an engine on it that would be fun
