i'm getting a tig welder, and will need to start using a cheater lens as my eyesight is going for short distance.
i have an old auto darkening helmet... must be 20 years old now, but i don't think i can fit a cheater lens to it???
Is there some sort of fitting that goes between that clamp that holds the whole auto darkening unit in on my helmet that holds a cheater lens? or is it new helmet time,
if so, how do i tell if a helmet can take a cheater lens?
i tried ebay searching but they just come up with the actual lenses, or helmets that look pretty much like mine on the inside, and even the masks on weldes.co.uk don't seem to mention if they take cheater lenses,
on a youtube video showing a cheater lens being used, it seems like there's a set of tabs/ slider bar that the cheater lens clips into.
i'll be looking at the cheaper end of the market, this is just for hobby use, and i'm spending way too much already on all the stuff i need to get tig welding after buying the actual welder (gas, gloves, consumables etc)
