Cheapest Way to send Stone Dogs to teh USA

Yes you did read it right, no it's not a euphemism :-)

I am having some stone Clumber spaniels cast and a lot of interest is in the USA. They are life size and heavy (about 35kg each). I thought if I could load a pallet with 10, then the shipping (when divided by 10) may be reasonable. It appears I was wrong. I'm looking for probably a sea crossing, but all I can get quotes for is "Express Air" at £1500+!!

I'm sure that one or more of you cosmopolitan lot have done this, so which carrier would you suggest please?

For that price you could fly over with a mould and cast them yourself when you arrive.

My point exactly and it has been suggested that if the stone mason agrees, the mould could just be sent over and have them cast in the US. However whilst I am paying for the sculpture and the preparation of the mould, and the casting is for my exclusive use, I don't actually own the mould (I assume it means I cant take it elsewhere or do the castings myself!) So he has some income stream from it.
