if you have a pub bottle and they are still there (as it was a long time ago) there is a welding place just off the bypass i think by the science museum in brum or http://www.jawel.co.uk/ they will exchange a pub bottle for you hope this helps

I don't know the answer. Air Liquide are based in Coleshill, so there should be plenty of agents around. Seems like they are able to cut individual deals, so worth trying to play one off against the other.
Expect to pay rental, but some will do deposit only. It's like the wild west! In any event, they will probably be cheaper than Air Products.
I think many of us have already done this, but -- as Air Liquide/Linde Gas/BOC seems to be in a great state of flux and general every man for himself ness, it might be worthwhile AL users posting up.
I was offered -- if my memory serves me well -- £70 for 50 litres Argon, £7 a month rental. But the agent peed me about so much with the paperwork I went to Keygas instead.
