Normally If I need to purchase aluminum (which isn't too often lately), I go to P&P Non ferrous in Brierley Hill, but you would need to open an account with them as they won't deal with cash or people walking in off the street.
They will cut to length if you require but not sure if they have a minimum order.
Occasionally I've used Blackburn metals in Kingswinford too but that's been for aluminum plate
If it's only 1 piece you need it may be easier to go to a certain auction site

A 5m length should be around a tenner give or take from any decent non ferrous stockholder. The give or take range can be fairly wide so search Yell.com for local non ferrous stockholders and phone a few tomorrow. A few will offer it in both 6082-T6 and 6063-T6, many will only do the former
Aluminiumwarehouse.co.uk are usually a competively priced stockholder (especially for tube and other extrusions) with online prices and they don't charge a premium for half lengths i.e. stuff they sell in 5m lengths is half the price for 2.5m, same deal for sections they sell in 2 or 4m lengths etc. For some sizes they also do a free cut to length service that'll give you an instant price for whatever length you want. Postage for a single piece of ally will almost certainly kill any savings over a local source though, £15 IIRC?

I don't buy much that size but should be looking sub £8 for 3 m length.

yeah thats where I got my best quote of £14 for 5 metres. if I take 3 lengths.
