Cheaper option for renting gas.

Ruthorth Autojumble (near York) today there was a chap supplying gas (proper company) aimed at the low user. I only asked about Oxygen, but he was talking fifty quid standing charge for the cylinder- keep cylinder as long as you want, (years), return it and the money is refunded. 35 quid per refil.

I have his number if anyone is interested.

I reckon that`s extremely expensive if compared with a BOC W cylinder rental and one fill of gas.The higher pressure BOC bottle has a lot,lot more gas in it.

Good option for someone wanting a mix but not wanting to pay rental and still FAR better than running disposables.

A similar offer, for those 'darn sarf' although they do deliver, i am still looking for a similar offer near to nottingham[although the BOC/VZI offer is the best at the moment-with discounted rental] but with the £50 deposit, if you ever need to, you can get your £50 back, and spend it, and when needed, leave another deposit

Thanks for that link chrisbee, really useful they even do oxygen - no mention of acetylene but at least I can get rid of the BOC hire fee for the oxygen. The delivery cost is very reasonable too, even more so if you get 2 bottles.

I'm from Nottingham, Long Eaton actually and have been using air products from their Long Eaton depot but like BOC they are not cheap.

Recently found out that Air Products sell to reseller who can fix their own pricing so contacted Foster Industrial at Lenton and did a deal with them.

Threw all the AP bottles back in to AP and got the same AP bottles from Fosters but on a Fosters invoice, not AP.

Got an invoice thru the post on Saturday for Novembers rental on two full size bottles, they call them B50's, stand nearly 6' tall.
Argon B50 £6.81 rental per month
Coogar B50 £6.81 rental per month

Both plus VAT

Don't have an invoice to hand with gas prices on them, I'll look later.

50 ltr bottel of oxygen £7 per month £15.50 to fill it
10 ltr bottel pure argon £4 per month £20.50 to fill it ( ouch )
